Open Meeting Announcement
FAFA will hold an open meeting on Sunday May 4th at 4:30pm in the RCC Cafeteria. This meeting will be preceded by a Board Meeting where new officers will be elected. This meeting is open to anyone interested in becoming a member of the oldest Arts Festival in NC. Anyone entered into this years Festival automatically becomes a voting member for one year. FAFA welcomes all to join whether you create art, enjoy art or are just interested in bettering your community.
We need your support in continuing this valuable tradition. Artists may pick up their work on May 4th from 5:30 – 6:30 following the open meeting.

Bruce Shores has an MFA from UNCG. He is an Adjunct Professor at Lees-McCrea. His work has been represented by galleries around the state and nationally.

Charlie grew up in Columbia, MD where he learned to create pots on the wheel at the age of thirteen. He graduated in 1997 with a BFA from Guilford College. After graduating, he moved to Atlanta, GA and began making pots full time. He has work published in two books, was accepted to various exhibitions, and received a Purchase Award from Skutt Kilns for his piece, Dancing Teapot. Charlie’s work has also been published in Ceramic Monthly. Currently, He is back in Greensboro, NC teaching at Guilford College, making pots, and exhibiting. *www.ctpottery.com* |

Ginger Hendricks is the Director of the Center for Women Writers and Coordinator of Cultural Events at Salem College. She graduated with honors from Salem in 2000 with a degree in communication and creative writing. In 2003 she received her MFA in Writing from Vermont College. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Big Muddy: A Journal of the Mississippi River Valley, The Patterson Literary Review, Skirt!, Winston-Salem Living and others. |

Jay Speetjens has been woodworking professionally for over twenty years. He is the founder of J. Speetjens, Inc which started under the tagline /The Art of Furniture. /He completed athe Stringed Instrument Course at the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Arizona. He has done work as varied as sailboat building, cabinetmaking and guitar making. *www.jspeetjens.com* |

Billy Summers, from Whitsett, NC earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts at UNCG. He has spent his musical career in church music and in education. His last education position was Professor at High Point University. He left that office to devote more time to his Minister of Music position. Billy brings years of experience as an organist, choir director, educator, and composer. |
